尤雷克・贝克尔(1937―1997)是德国当代重要作家，生于波兰。童年曾在集中营度过，大学攻读哲学，1960年开始其自由作家生涯。《小谎者雅各布》是他的第一部长篇小说，被译成多种文字，两次被改编成电影，为作者赢得了亨利希・曼文学奖和瑞士国际夏尔・韦尔文学奖。贝克尔的其他作品还有《欺骗当局》、《不眠的日子》、《金世界的朋友》等。
